Radio Technician
General Responsibilities
The following is a brief list of some of the general responsibilities for this position. It is understood that these general responsibilities are not inclusive of all of the responsibilities that this position requires, but instead, are intended as a general scope of work.
- Efficiently and independently repair, program, and tune older types of radio equipment such as Motorola MTX800, Maxtrac and MSF5000.
- Efficiently and independently repair, program, and tune new types of radio equipment such as Motorola MTX850, CDM750 and Quantar.
- Test and clean equipment as required.
- Order necessary parts.
- Perform Service Calls.
- Triage incoming units.
- Maintain rental fleet radios and batteries.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be an on-time and motivated self starter.
- Proficiency with basic office software: Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
- Ability to climb stairs and small towers as needed.
- Knowledge of trunking communications formats.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment such as repeaters and antennas as needed.
- Minimum High School Diploma.
- 5-6 years of experience repairing and testing radio equipment.
